Significant Roles Still Need Filling
Happy Monday swim team families!
It was nice to see so many of you at the pool last night. Sorry for those that got there after we ran out of ice cream!

HELP IS NEEDED TO RUN THE SEASON
I am sending this update instead of Jackie who coordinates volunteers. She has gotten little to no response in the past 2 years from newer families regarding some significant needs that we have.
Summer swim programs run because of the volunteers, Prestonwood is no different. We have been fortunate to have some people filling roles for significantly longer than is asked of them. But as a result, many of those crucial volunteers are graduating out of the program. We are in need of new families to start filling some of these position. As a rule of thumb, if you have participated in the team for 3 or more years, we are hoping that you can find one of these roles that suits you this season!
THANK YOU to the Stegmans, Mertens, Wolfes, and Zhang/Quans who have volunteered as Stroke & Turn Judges for the season and have committed to going to the S&T Clinic to be certified! This is a very significant role and we appreciate their stepping up (again) for this job! Thank to the LeFews & Carrs for stepping into the data coordinator roles. And for the families taking care of Ribbons, Spirit & Cary City the Winchesters, Haddocks, Perreiras, Leys, Sheehys and Beauchemins.
The following positions are necessary for the season to run & we ask that people serve in these roles for 2 years. As you will see below, the people currently in these roles continue to fill in as no one have volunteered to train and replace them.
1. TSA REPRESENTATIVE (served by Jerome Roussin for 5 year and Shannon Whitson for 2) We need, ideally 2 NEW REPS this season. There is a New Rep training necessary. There are 2 clinics being offered for this role:
- Sunday May 31, 2026 at University Club from 9am to 10:30am OR
- Saturday June 6, 2026 at Cary Park from 8:30am to 10:00am
2. Starter (served by Ngoc Hulbig for 4 years & by Breanne and Damian Rodino last year) 5:30 pm arrival to our home meets. Begins each heat, and calls false starts if there is one. This worker also gets to sit in the shade the entire meet! NEED 1-2 to cover the 4 home meets for the year.
3. Volunteer Coordinator in Training (served by Jackie Parker for 6+ years) To help Jackie and shadow her this season with the intention of taking the lead for summers of 2027 & 2028
4. Clerks of Course (served consistently by Ashley Galloway 4 years) and others 5:30 pm arrival, the clerks lines up swimmers according to the heat sheet. Ideally Clerks are good with names and can be very patient, while stern (in a good way). NEED 2 EVERY MEET -- 14 total slots to fill
Please reach out to me or Jackie if you have a willingness to take on one of these crucial roles or have questions before deciding.
