6 & UNDER PRACTICE CHANGE
Parents of 6 & Unders,
As we get started with the season, I am doing my best to evaluate progress and our swim experience as a whole. We have A LOT of 6 & under swimmers this year. While this is wonderful, it is also challenging as their swim ability levels vary.
As a result, I need to make an adjustment to the practice time. We will be returning to last season's practice schedule for the 6 & Unders.
6 & Unders will now practice from 6:30-6:50 pm.
This is immediately following the 7-8 practice. This will allow me more time after practice to interact with swimmers and parents, answer questions, address concerns, etcetera. I know this is a big shift but I feel it is necessary for the safety and success of the practice.
Please, let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding this shift. I am happy to discuss this directly with you if needed.

I do my best to work with all of our younger swimmers regardless of them officially meeting the eligibility requirements (see below) but it is important to note that some swimmers may benefit more from swim lessons than being on the team.
from the website:
Eligibility
We often get the question, “Should my child be on the swim team? I don’t know if they are ready.” Here are the things that we consider when answering that question::
If your child is 6 years old or younger, they should be…
- ☑️ ...comfortable jumping from the edge into the pool
- ☑️ ...willing to fully submerge their face in the water
- ☑️ ...comfortable being in water that is 4+ feet deep
Additionally, swimmers that are ages 6 and under should also be...
- ☑️ ...able to swim 15 yards across the pool unassisted by the second week of practice.
