Blue & Green Team Assignments
Good Morning Piranhas!
We are looking forward to seeing most of you this afternoon for the Time Trials Meet. I wanted to send a few details & reminders.
TIME TRIALS | 4:30 PM arrival | 5:00 PM warm-ups | 6:00 Competition
GREEN TEAM last names A-L
BLUE TEAM last names M-Z
Upon arrival, swimmers should report immediately to the “Number Writer”. This volunteer will put a three or four-digit number on your child’s arm. Please do not put sunscreen on your child between their shoulder and elbow; it will block the sharpie. During a race, this number will serve like a jersey number does in other sports.
The order of events is as follows:
Events progress from the youngest age group to the oldest. Boys compete before the girls in each event. All swimmers will compete in Freestyle, Backstroke, Breastroke*, and Butterfly*.
*As mentioned in the Swim Team Overview, swimmers in the 6 & Under age group do not compete in Butterfly. Many new swimmers will not compete in Breastroke or Butterfly in tonights meet. As they learn the necessary skills for these races, they will be timed in practice and able to enter in future meets.
What to Bring
First off, bring what you would bring with you to each swim practice (swimsuit, towel, goggles and cap). Additionally, we highly recommend the following!
- ☑️ A blanket, beach towel, or chairs for your swimmers to sit on. Most pool chairs are removed from the pool deck for the duration of the meet.
- ☑️ Towels for drying off; it can be chilly after each swim!
- ☑️ Loose fitting, comfortable clothing to wear between races
- ☑️ Bring something to cover items if it rains. Even a simple zip-lock or trash bag can help save a phone or a dry set of clothes if it rains without warning!
- ☑️ Some swimmers like to bring a notebook or something like it to record their times! They can ask their timer for their time after each race instead of waiting for the results to post.
